With over twenty years of experience, David has gained extensive knowledge in intensive psychotherapy and an in-depth understanding of clinical programming in community mental health clinics. He began as a case worker in an alternative substance abuse treatment program for mothers with young children. Then, David obtained his master's degree in social work and began his career as a therapist and supervisor at Gateway Youthcare Foundation, a residential program specializing in adolescent addiction treatment. His journey continued at the Juvenile Protective Association (JPA), where he provided intensive psychodynamic psychotherapy services to students and their families in a Chicago Public School.
As a clinical director at a community mental health clinic for 14 years, until May 2024, David supervised a team of mental health professionals specializing in child, adolescent, and adult outpatient treatment, providing supervision focused on helping early-career social workers/counselors develop a foundation in psychodynamic, developmental, and attachment-based theories.
